Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 10, 2026

1. Who we are

Blueberry Inc. ("Blueberry," "we," "us," or "our") provides workplace software for restaurants and hospitality teams, including training, tasks, operational resources, shift reporting, check-ins, and AI-assisted knowledge tools.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our website at blueberryapp.io, our web application, and the Blueberry Employee mobile app for iOS and Android (together, the "Services"). Use of the Services is also subject to our Terms of Service.

If you have questions, contact us at support@blueberryapp.io.

2. Who this policy applies to

The Services are intended for employees, managers, and authorized administrators of organizations that subscribe to Blueberry. Access is provided by your employer or organization administrator. The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

3. Information we collect

Account and profile information. When you sign in, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number (if provided), profile photo, role, and display preferences (for example, light or dark theme). Authentication is handled through Google Firebase Authentication.

Workplace and employment-related data. Depending on how your organization uses Blueberry, we process information related to your work, including location assignments, training progress and quiz results, task completions and notes, shift-end reports and comments, prep list activity, check-in and assessment responses, employee survey (eNPS) responses, bio or onboarding answers, in-person training reviews, and messages or queries you send to AskBlu (our AI assistant).

Content you upload. You may upload photos or files in connection with tasks, profile pictures, training materials (for authorized users), knowledge base content, or other features. Uploaded files are stored on our infrastructure and may be processed for display, search, or AI-assisted answers where your organization has enabled those features.

Device and usage information. We collect technical information needed to operate and secure the Services, such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, app version, and general usage logs. On the web, we may use session replay and analytics tools (such as FullStory) to understand product usage and improve reliability. On mobile, we detect network connectivity locally to show offline states; we do not use that signal for advertising.

Camera and photo library (mobile app). With your permission, the Blueberry Employee app may access your device camera to scan QR codes for shared tablet setup, and your photo library or camera to upload profile pictures or task completion photos. You can deny or revoke these permissions in your device settings; some features may not work without them.

Local storage on your device. The mobile app may store limited data on your device (for example, in-progress training guide progress) so you can continue where you left off. This data stays on your device unless synced to our servers as part of normal app use.

Payment and billing (organization customers). If your organization purchases a subscription, billing details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). Employees using the Blueberry Employee app typically do not enter payment information directly into Blueberry.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • Authenticate users and enforce access controls for your organization;
  • Deliver training, tasks, resources, and workplace workflows assigned to you;
  • Send transactional emails and notifications (for example, reminders, invites, or survey requests);
  • Generate AI-assisted answers through AskBlu using your organization's approved knowledge;
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and protect against fraud or abuse;
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for third-party advertising.

5. How we share information

Within your organization. Information you submit through the Services may be visible to managers, administrators, and other authorized users at your organization according to permissions set by your employer.

Service providers. We use trusted vendors to help us operate the Services, including providers for:

  • Authentication (Google Firebase);
  • Cloud hosting and databases;
  • File and media storage (for example, DigitalOcean Spaces);
  • Email delivery;
  • Payment processing (Stripe, for organization subscriptions);
  • AI and search infrastructure (for example, vector search providers used by AskBlu);
  • Product analytics and session diagnostics (for example, FullStory on the web).

These providers process data on our instructions and only as needed to perform their services.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Blueberry, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your organization maintains an active account and as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type and your organization's settings. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it in accordance with our internal retention practices.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for using the Services in accordance with your organization's policies.

8. International data transfers

Blueberry is based in Canada. Your information may be processed and stored in Canada, the United States, or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

9. Your choices and rights

Account settings. You can update certain profile information (such as name, phone, photo, password, and theme) through Settings in the web or mobile app, where available.

Email preferences. You may unsubscribe from non-essential Blueberry emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages or through in-app options where provided. Transactional messages related to your account or assigned work may still be sent.

Device permissions. You can control camera and photo access through your mobile device settings.

Requests. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information. Because the Services are provided to you through your employer, we may need to coordinate with your organization to fulfill some requests. Contact support@blueberryapp.io to submit a request.

10. Third-party links

The Services may link to third-party websites or tools (for example, feedback forms or external resources). Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
